We started setting new goals about 2 years ago and some of our plans and dreams are just now coming to fruition. But the really cool thing about the last two years is the unplanned fluctuations and modulations. My head is spinning trying to organize a coherent narrative.
Let me begin by noting that, for changes to occur, one must have a solid foundation. We have been so blessed to be surrounded by the best of the best in island fashion. Our design team and our loyal crew have been steadfast in their support of all that we do. We have asked much of them and at every turn they have responded with a smile and encouragement.
To this team of veterans we added a young, creative and superbly talented graphics designer, Maria. With Maria’s eye for detail and really cool style, we have revamped most of our graphics and incorporated our new logo into all of our collateral.
Oh did I forget to tell you we created a new logo? Fabulous! It looks like iOi; it is pronounced like ioio or eeeooooh-eeeooooh; and it has a cute little starfish in the center! Like I said… fabulous!
Going forward, the iOi logo will represent who we are as a brand. Whether we do clothing, bags, luggage or furniture (a girl can dream can’t she?), when you see the iOi logo you will know this is a product from Hawaii, by `IOLANI and endorsed by our family.
So… you might ask, what was the hugely surprising change that occurred in the last year? Well, our son, Alx and his talented wife, Sarah, moved home. That was a huge surprise as they were ensconced in their LA life. But, they looked at their long term goals and realized a new direction, which included moving home and joining `IOLANI. We are so happy to have them on our team. As their mom, I love having them home… as their “boss-mom” I couldn’t ask for better! They have brought with them energy, style and a new vision for `IOLANI.
Taking this new vision and our new logo in hand, we began the arduous task of revamping our website. If you have ever been involved in website development, you know there is a myriad of ways to approach this project. We hired an excellent team of website designers, with an assist from our own creative team, and voila… HERE WE STAND.
A shout out must go to Sarah’s dad, Ric Noyle, our photographer of choice. You will notice his aesthetic in all the candid photos- he is amazing. He also created an on-site photo booth for us so that our creative team can showcase new items that continuously flow from design. All and all, it’s a new look for `IOLANI and we love it!
All our efforts, all our plans and dreams are moving forward at a fervent pace. I haven’t even begun to tell you about our new `IOLANI Center… I’ll try to get to that next time! Just know, new opportunities keep coming at us and with our ever growing super talented team, we are ready. `Til then~ Keep dreaming and love what falls into your path.
Aloha for now
